Coffee's on, the doors are open boaters and friends gather for conversation and a free seminar or workshop. Topics are diverse covering such topics as Metal Fatigue, Sail Trim, Heavy Weather, Cooking on Board, Sewing, Splicing, Folk Lore, Medical emergencies, radio, GPS, and more. Seminars are held in the Chula Vista Marina's boater's lounge, on the waterfront, next door to the Galley Restaurant.

We are vegan and vegetarians (although everyone is welcome to attend events) who are active and enjoy being outside and who want to compete and have fun while promoting animal rights. We do athletic training and events (swim, cycle, run, triathlon, marathon, etc...). We also get together every month for potlucks, movie nights, hiking, beach meetups, dinners and lunches at various restaurants and we have a book club. We are based out of San Diego, CA but have club team members in numerous states …

This is the San Diego-based SHARK PROTECTORATE (A focus group of Power Scuba) . We are a pro-Shark Finning ban/Shark Fin Soup ban site. We support AB 376 in the state legislature as a bill whos time has arrived. The sale, use, and possession of shark fin must be banned. More generally, we are involved in the overall conservation of the many shark species currently in trouble. Shark populations worldwide are being decimated by the demand for shark fin soup and unsustainable fishing methods …
