The Atlanta Fly Fishing Club is a member of the Federation of Fly Fishers, a national organization dedicated to protecting and restoring fish habitat and educating the public through fly fishing.
Club membership is only $15 per year; or, $25 Family of two.
Renewals are due on January 1 of each year and can be paid either by mail or at a club meeting.
Renewals received after March 1 of each year, will be assessed at the rates of $20 per year; or, $35 Family of two.
If a renewal is not received by April 1 of each year, then all email communications from the Atlanta Fly Fishing Club via Yahoo! Groups will cease. You will no longer receive the monthly club newsletter nor any other periodic communication messages.
AFFC members are not required to join FFF but are encouraged to do so. I renew my membership in FFF each year because I'm concerned with fish habitat and the increased pressure on these fragile environs. The FFF annual dues of $29 (all but $5 is tax deductible) is a small and painless contribution to a larger effort that I fully support.
I renew my AFFC membership because of the fun and what it provides me today and throughout the year. In particular, I enjoy meeting at Manuel's, entering the raffles, acquiring new fishing friends, attending fly tying workshops, being informed through our meeting programs, monthly electronic newsletter, web site, and postings via Yahoo! Groups. These all help to plan fishing outtings which helps me to enjoy the sport with friends locally in the North Georgia area -- and at other fishable waters throughout the world. As the old saying goes... So much water, but so little time to (fly) fish!
This year our club members will be boating, float-tubing and wading in waters throughout Georgia, fishing for Red Fish on the Georgia and Florida coasts, hooking Snook in Florida and Bonefish in the Keys, catching Salmon in Alaska, wrestling with Cutthroats in Montana, and camping near trout streams throughout the land.
I will not miss being part of it. I hope you won't either.
If you'd like to join the Atlanta Fly Fishing Club now, just send me your completed membership application to initiate your membership. Renewals are also accepted if you're a past member that has let your membership lapse. We look forward to seeing, and fishing with, you again.
Attendance is not required at our monthly meetings, especially if the drive is too long from where you live, so don't let that hold you back from joining the Atlanta Fly Fishing Club. However, we'd love to get to know you in person and encourage you to attend as many meetings as you can fit into your schedule. Of course, our web site and membership communication via Yahoo! Groups, in addition to our newsletter, will help keep you informed of what's going on in the club. So, join now to begin receiving the immediate benefits of an AFFC membership!
